Medical Support Assistant
As a Medical Support Assistant, you will be responsible for the following duties:
o Performs all tasks associated with the scheduling of patients for appointments in all outpatient clinics and ancillary services such as laboratory, radiology and specialized tests as requested by the treating provider.
o Possesses a has general knowledge of all directives and policies pertaining to the scheduling of patients and the impact they have on patient care and customer service.
o Performs all tasks associated with the pre-registration of all patients prior to a scheduled outpatient visit. This includes calling the patient to remind them of their appointment plus ensuring the patient demographics are updated and current to include insurance information, correct address, phone number, marital status and employment status.
o Incumbent notifies patients of appointment and clinic cancellation either by telephone, or in person or by letter.
o Incumbent functions as an agent in the Medical Center's telephone system (ACD), effectively addressing concerns and correctly routing telephone calls when appropriate.

-Typing greater than 40 words per minute is preferred.

Requirements:
-Medical Assistant Certificate
-CPR Certified by the American Heart Association
